Watch Out Generation Z (Toyota Venza Commercial)

This commercial is hilarious. It is a direct hit at my generation

(Generation Z), and I love it.

I consider myself to be “in the know” but I am nowhere as obsessed with social media as this girl is portrayed to be…even though I do have various social media sites I am a part of (guilty as charged).

I am sure that each one of us knows someone, if it is not yourself, who has said something similar to this. I know I hear it all of the time, in fact just a few months ago I was remarking about how my mother only had 10 Facebook friends.

I had to show this commercial to my dad because he is just like the girl’s parents. This commercial does a great job at highlighting the differences in the two generations, the different opinions in what it means to “really live” while marketing a car.

Take a look at it, I am sure it will have you doubling over from laughter.

Writing is a Process

Writing is a process.  I have always found it interesting to watch someone write.  From the outside it looks so simple and easy but in reality while it might be easy it is not simple.

Personally I have never considered it hard to write.  It is not hard at all for me,once I get started that is.  However that is where the complications come in, sometimes it takes me forever just to sit down and write.

When I write I start with an idea, sometimes the idea is completely random, other times it is the result of a previous action/event.  Once I get the idea, the topic or “base” for what I want to write about then I begin to think.  I think about why I want to write about this in the first place, what is so important about it etc..

For example I am currently starting to write a new book (as well as editing Blood of Isis).

The book started with an idea, an idea that I did not even realize until a month later would become a book.  It was my “PC Howard” Guide to Preternatural Creatures, something I began for fun.  That fun assignment then became the basis of a book when I began to think about who PC Howard is etc…

At the same time I was interested in somehow combining the PC Howard guides with my interest in one day writing a  book in the paranormal genre.  So one day I sat down and  began to write, beginning with the next step “creating a world”.  I knew that if I was going to write a book where mythological/paranormal creatures coexisted I needed to create a world that would make that a possibility.

And now after all of that, the idea, the thinking, the world building I have the beginnings of what is an amazing book, as well as an amazing character Eva Alexandra (**I will share more later**).  Only problem is, it has not been written.  Now comes the hardest part: forcing/encouraging/bribing myself to sit down and write.  Although it might seem like it is, my reluctance to write does not mean I do not love writing, I do.  Writing is just such a long process, a process that once begun is hard to stop.  I have never addicted to drugs but I have a feeling that this “writing high” I get when I start writing is what it feels like.

When I start writing I have to finish it.  Not just for me but for the world I created and for the people that live in it.  To me it is like torture to start something and not finish that.  (having done that many times in my past I am fully aware of how horrible it is)

How do I manage everything…I have no idea.  I a little more than a month I will be back at college with a full courseload plus numerous officer positions in organizations and work.  I have no idea how I am going to keep reading and writing but I will.  I am sure that at some point all of the greats or just other authors have had to deal with balancing writing with their other jobs and duties.  If they can do it, so can I 🙂

Remember Me?

I agree, if I could be remembered for all the things I have done, good and bad that would be wonderful.

Sure it’s not a good feeling to always be reminded of your mistakes but it allows others to learn from them. Also hopefully the good things you have done outweigh the bad 🙂

Best Cookies Ever!!!

I just went to Chick-fil-A and literally had the best cookie I have ever had.

This is what the package’s seal said:

When I first saw it I was like “yeah right” but no, seriously, it is correct.

I think it has oats, chocolate chips and chunks in it, not completely sure.

I plan on doing some web hunting and experimentation to find out. Once I figure it out I will be making a batch and post the recipe…so excited!!!

If anyone knows the recipe or has any other that are just as chewy and delicious please share 🙂
