This is great, I judge books by their covers all the time. If they weren’t meant to be judged by their covers their covers wouldn’t be so amazing.
It’s not that if a cover doesn’t catch my eye that I think the book sucks but as a visual learner images, like book covers, stick with me.
So if the book cover catches my eye, I’ll remember it and since I have a 3x rule (if I see the same book three times, as if it’s calling out to me I must put it on my to-read list) that amazing cover also increases the chances that I will read the book.
I’m not saying we should always go around and judge books by their cover but I am saying that book covers are very important, a lot of time is out into designing book covers, therefore we should treat them as any other marketing tool and evaluate them!
